Pulmonary Fibrosis (PF) in simpler terms is scarring in the lungs. With time, the condition of lungs worsens, making it hard for oxygen to enter the blood. Low oxygen levels cause shortness of breath while performing daily activities.
The scarring can be caused by a multitude of factors. The lung damage caused by pulmonary fibrosis can’t be repaired, but medications and therapies can sometimes help ease symptoms and improve quality of life. For some people, a lung transplant might be appropriate.
Our Lung Program provides diagnostics, treatments and follow-up services for a broad spectrum of pulmonary issues. These programs have tremendously helped our patients in improving breathing quality and health.
