Chronic Obstructive
Pulmonary Disease

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is associated with progressive loss of lung function. It is a common condition that mainly affects middle-aged or older adults who smoke or may have smoked. Many people do not even realize that they have COPD in the early stages.

It causes inflammation of lungs which leads to slow, progressive obstruction of airflow into or out of the lungs. The resulting breathing problems tend to get gradually worse leading to shortness of breath and deteriorating physical activity. Timely diagnosis and treatment can help keep the condition under control.

Long-term damage can also prove fatal. However, it is preventable and treatable. Timely diagnosis and treatment can help keep the condition under control.
